Glossary of Ecolabel Logos / Seals

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally accepted ecolabel for textiles manufactured without harsh or toxic chemicals.

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100Plus is a globally accepted ecolabel for textiles manufactured without harsh or toxic chemicals and using environmentally friendly and ethically sound manufacturing practices.

UTZ Certified is an accrediting body system and seal for cocoa, tea and coffee products with a concentrate on ethical trading guidelines and sustainable farming. Further, UTZ Certified products are traceable throughout the entire supply chain. UTZ Certified is accepted worldwide and is a member of the ISEAL Alliance.

Fairtrade Max Havelaar is seal and certifying body for food items, cotton and sports balls with a focus on ethical trading principles and sustainable farming. While the organization is based in Switzerland the seal is accepted globally and Fairtrade Max Havelaar is a member of Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO).

The FairWild seal, used globally for wild collected plants, is issued by the FairWild Foundation and promotes ethical trading principals as well as the sustainable collection and use of wild plants.

The Blue Angel / Der Blaue Engle seal is Germany’s official national ecolabel managed by both the Federal Environmental Agency and the Federal Ministry for the Environment Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The scheme applies to a wide range of consumer and industrial products and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Bonsucro Better Sugar Cane Initiative (BSI) is a seal and certifying body that provides global standards to reduce the impact of sugar cane production on the environment and also to set improve the social and economic welfare of sugar cane farmers. Bonsucro offers two certifications: Bonsucro Production Standard and a Chain of Custody Standard. The BSI is a member of the ISEAL alliance.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Group Sustainable Forest Management System (SFM) seal is Canada’s official national scheme certifying that products are produced using sustainable forest management practices. CSA SFM includes both a Forest Management and Chain of Custody standard and is endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

The Cerflor Forest Certification Programme is the official national Brazilian seal for forestry products produced using sustainable forest management practices. The scheme is issued by the Brazilian National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality and the standards are managed by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT).

The Certified Humane Raised and Handled seal, which is issued by Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC), is an American certification for animal products that have been raised humanely and without antibiotics or hormones.

Certified Local Sustainable is a Canadian ecolabel for domestic agricultural products grown using sustainable farming standards and with a focus on fair labor practices; the seal is issued by Local Food Plus (LFP).

The Certified Natural Cosmetics BDIH seal, which is issued by the German organization BDIH (Association of Industries and Trading Firms), certifies that a cosmetics product meets the standards BDIH has set in the areas of raw materials, ecological compatibility, social compatibility, and that all products are free of genetically engineered materials.

Certified Sustainable LIVE, which is issued by LIVE (Low Impact Viticulture and Enology), is a USA based seal for Pacific Northwest wineries and wines produced using sustainable viticulture and enology practices.

Certified Sustainable Seafood is a globally accepted ecolabel for seafood and seafood products. The seal, issued by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), ensures that seafood originates from a sustainable fishery and has a verified chain-of-custody. The MSC is a member of the ISEAL Alliance.

The Certified Wildlife Friendly® seal, issued by the Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network (WFEN), is a global scheme for agriculture products produced following the principles of wildlife stewardship in that they contribute to the conservation of native species.

The China Environmental Labelling seal is China’s official national ecolabel issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) and certified by the China Environmental United Certification Center (CEC). The scheme applies to a wide range of consumer and industrial products and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Compostable seal is issued by the Bureau de normalisation du Qu̩bec (BNQ) and the Composting Council of Canada, and is the official national seal certifying that a Canadian bioplastic product is compostable. It includes two standards: Compostable Plastic Bags – Certification Program (BNQ 9011-911/2007) and Compostable Products Certification Program (CAN/BNQ 0017-988).

The Compostable CIC seal, which is issued by the Italian Composting Association (CIC), signifies that an Italian product is compostable and meets the European standard for compostability EN 13432.

Cotton Made in Africa (CMiA), which is an initiative through the Aid by Trade Foundation, certifies cotton products which are grown in Africa and that focus on ethical trading principles and sustainable farming.

The Cradle to Cradle seal, issued by the international organization The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, signifies that a product meets the seal’s criteria in five categories: material health, material reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. This ecolabel covers a wide range of products in both the consumer and industrial arena. Ekowarehouse accepts the silver, gold, and platinum levels of the C2C seal.

The Danish Indoor Climate seal, issued by the Danish Technological Institute, is a scheme for building and furniture products that have demonstrated low indoor emissions and have a minimal impact on indoor air quality.

The Design for the Environment (DfE) seal is issued by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is America’s official national ecolabel for US consumers identify cleaning and home care products that are best in class in terms of safety and environmental impact.

The DIN-Geprüft Home Compostable seal is a compostability scheme from German organization DIN CERTCO which identifies a bioplastic product as biodegradable under home composting conditions. The DIN-Gepruft Home Compostable seal signifies that a product meets the AS 5810 international standard for compostability.

The DIN-Geprüft Industrial Compostable seal is a compostability scheme from German organization DIN CERTCO which identifies an industrial bioplastic product as being biodegradable. The DIN-Gepruft Industrial Compostable seal also signifies a product meets the international standards for compostability: EN 13432 / 14995, ISO 17088 / 18606, AS 4736 and ASTM 6400.

The Dolphin Safe seal, which is issued by The Earth Island Institute, is a global certification for tuna ensuring that it has been caught without the use of drift grill nets and without harm to dolphin populations.

The Eco Mark of Japan is an ecolabel issued by the Japan Environment Association (JEA) Eco Mark Office which is affiliated with the government of Japan through the Ministry of the Environment. The seal applies to a wide range of consumer products, complies with ISO 14024 Type I environmental standards, and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Ekolabel Indonesia (Ramah Lingkungan) is Indonesia’s official national ecolabel and is issued by the Ministry of Environment. The seal applies to a wide range of consumer products, complies with ISO 14024 Type I environmental standards, and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Ekologicky Setrne Vyrobky / Environmentally Friendly Product seal is the Czech Republic’s official national ecolabel for the Czech Republic issued by the Ministry of the Environment. The seal applies to a wide range of Czech consumer and industrial products and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The EMICODE seal is issued by GEV (the Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials / Gemeinschaft Emissionskontrollierte Verlegewerkstoffe, Klebstoffe und Bauprodukte) and is a German certification for building materials that have demonstrated low indoor emissions and have a minimal impact on indoor air quality. Ekowarehouse accepts both the EMICODE EC 1 and EMICODE EC 1PLUS seals.

The Energy Label Program of Taiwan is issued by Taiwan’s Bureau of Energy (BOE) and is Taiwan’s official national seal for efficient electronic products.

The Energy Saving Trust Recommended seal, issued by the Energy Saving Trust, is a UK based certification granted to consumer electronics, insulation, and heating products that meet energy saving criteria.

The ENERGY STAR seal, whose guidelines are set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is an American seal for energy efficient electronic products that reduce energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Environmental Choice New Zealand (ECNZ) is the official national ecolabel of New Zealand issued by the New Zealand ecolabelling Trust which is owned by the New Zealand government. The seal applies to a wide range of consumer and industrial products and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Environmental Label of the Republic of Croatia / Environmentally Friendly seal is the official national ecolabel of Croatia issued by the Croatian Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection. The seal applies to a wide range of Croatian consumer products.

Environmentalne Vhodny Produkt is Slovakia’s official national ecolabel for consumer products. The seal is issued by the National Programme of Environmental Assessment and Ecolabelling in the Slovak Republik (NPEHOV) and the Slovak Environmental Agency (SEA) on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment.

TCO Certified is a globally accepted Swedish ecolabel for IT & computer-related consumer and industrial products. The seal is issued by TCO International and meets ISO 14001 Type I environmental standards.

The Thai Green Label is Thailand’s official national ecolabel for consumer products. The seal is issued by the Thailand Environmental Institute (TEI) on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Compostable Logo is issued by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) and is a compostability seal which identifies a North American bioplastic product as compostable and The Compostable Logo signifies a product meets the ASTM 6400 / 6868 standards for compostability.

The Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) seal allows consumers in the US to identify products that have been manufactured without the use chlorine. The seal is issued by the Chlorine Free Products Association (CFPA).

Tunisia Ecolabel is the official national ecolabel for a wide range of consumer products in Tunisia. The seal is issued by Centre International des Technologies de l’Environnement et du Developement durable (CITET) on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

The Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) member seal is a global ecolabel for products and ingredients sourced according to biodiversity conservation principles and sustainable local trade practices.

Florverde Sustainable Flowers is a global independent social and environmental standard, which ensures that flowers certified under this scheme have been responsibly produced. This requires flower growers to adopt measures that will protect and enable workers rights, as well as implement the best environmental practices.

The Food Alliance Certified seal is issued by the Food Alliance (FA) and is for American agriculture products that meet criteria in four areas: pest and disease management, soil and water conservation, human resource management, and wildlife habitat conservation.

Food Justice Certified (FJC) is a seal for agriculture, fiber and cosmetic products that are made with a focus on ethical trading principals and social justice standards. The FJC is a part of the American based Agricultural Justice Project (AJP) and a member of the Domestic Fair Trade Association.

The Forest Garden Products (FGP) seal is issued by the International Analog Forestry Network (IAFN, RIFA) and is for products grown around the world using Analog Forestry. Analog Forestry works to conserve biodiversity by ensuring a focus on mimicking natural forests, ecological succession and landscape ecology.

Friend of the Earth is a certification scheme for sustainable farming and agricultural products. This global scheme follows guidelines from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)’s Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agriculture systems (SAFA’s) and is based on protection of the environment through resource optimization, energy effieciency, corporate social responsibility, environmental preservation, and integrated pest management.

Friend of the Sea is both a certification scheme for sustainable fisheries and agriculture that conserve marine habitats. The Friend of the Sea seal certifies both farmed and wild-caught fish and seafood. This global scheme follows guidelines from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as well as their own certification standards.

The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) was developed by the Textile Exchange for global textile products made with recycled content. The GRS seal ensures traceability as well as the use of ethical trading and sustainable manufacturing practices.

GLOBALG.A.P. (Global Good Agricultural Practices) is a global seal and managing organization that certifies crops, livestock, and aquaculture that meet certain criteria in the areas of food safety, the environment and workers’ welfare. The seal, which is also know as the Integrated Farm Assurance Standard (IFA), incorporates many modules: the GLOBALG.A.P. Crops Module, the GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture Standard, the GLOBALG.A.P. Livestock Module, the GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Standard (CoC), the GLOBALG.A.P. Plant Propagation Material Standard (PPM), and the GLOBALG.A.P. Compound Feed Manufacturing Standard (CFM). GLOBALG.A.P. also offers additional certifications as add-ons: GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment On Social Practice (GRASP) and GLOBALG.A.P. Animal Welfare.

The Good Environmental Choice / Bra Milj̦val seal is a Swedish ecolabel and is issued by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC). The seal applies to a wide range of consumer products and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is both an ecolabel and the certifying body for Australia. The seal applies to a wide range of consumer products, complies with ISO 14024 Type I environmental standards, and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The GoodWeave seal, issued by the global organization GoodWeave International (GWI), certifies that a rug is produced without child labor, using ethical trading principles and sustainable practices. Good weave is a member of the ISEAL alliance.

Green America’s Certified Business Gold seal is issued by Green American’s Green Business Network, a program of Green America, and is an ecolabel for businesses producing a wide range of consumer products. The seal is earned through GreenGain, an online sustainability tool, that assesses USA based businesses in terms of criteria regarding the environment, social equity and accountability.

Green Choice Philippines is the official national ecolabel of the Philippines and is issued by the Philippine Center for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development. The seal applies to a wide range of consumer products, complies with ISO 14024 Type I environmental standards, and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Green Crane is an Ukrainian ecolabel for consumer and industrial products and is issued by the Ukrainian organization Living Planet. The seal complies with ISO 14024 Type I environmental standards and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

GreenLabel Singapore is a Singaporean ecolabel for a wide range of consumer and industrial products. The seal is issued by the Singapore Green Labeling Certification Scheme (SGLS) on behalf of the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Green Seal Certified is an ecolabel for a wide range of consumer goods in the United States issued by Green Seal. The seal meets both the ISO 14020/14024 Type I environmental standards. Green Seal is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Greenmark Program seal is Taiwan’s official national ecolabel for a wide range of consumer and industrial products. The seal is issued by the country’s Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA) and implemented by the Environmental and Development Foundation (EDF). TEPA is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Hong Hong Green Mark is an ecolabel for consumer products in Hong Kong and is managed by the Hong Kong Federation of Environmental Protection (HKFEP), which is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The Hong Kong Green Label Scheme is an ecolabel for consumer products in Hong Kong run by the Hong Kong Green Council (GC). The seal complies with ISO 14024 Type I environmental standards. Hong Kong Green Label is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Kornyezetbarat Termek Vedjegy is Hungary’s official national ecolabel for a wide range of products including consumer and industrial goods; it complies with ISO 14025 Type III environmental standards.

Indonesia Legal Wood or Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu (SVLK) Indonesi, also known as Timber Legality Assurance System (TLAS) and INDO-TLAS/SVLK, is Indonesia’s official national timber legality system. The seal is issued by the government of Indonesia’s Forestry Department in order to 1) fight illegal logging and deforestation, 2) provide standards and assurance that the timber being exported is traceable and legally obtained and 3) that the national timber industry observes responsible forestry governance standards.

The Korea Ecolabel is an ecolabel for consumer products in Korea. It is issued by Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Label STEP is a certifying body and seal for fair trade carpets that works with carpet makers worldwide to ensure fair labor standards and promote environmentally friendly production. The seal is accepted globally.

Lembaga Indonesia Ekolabel (LEI) Forestry Certification is an Indonesian forestry industry seal issued by The Indonesian Ecolabelling Institute with a focus on sustainable logging, forest conservation and rural population rights.

Level is an ecolabel for furniture products issued by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) with a focus on environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. Level was developed in conjunction with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in mind.

Made in Green by AITEX (miG) is a textile ecolabel with a focus on fair labor standards and environmentally friendly manufacturing practices issued by the Textile Industry Research Association (AITEX). The seal is accepted across Europe.

MADE-BY is a textile ecolabel and program with a focus on fair labor standards and environmentally friendly manufacturing practices for the apparel industry. It is accepted across Europe.

Marque NF Environnement is a French ecolabel issued by AFNOR Groupe for a wide range of consumer products. It is accepted across Europe and complies with EU environmental standards.

Milieukeur is a Dutch ecolabel for a wide range of consumer products. It is issued by the Milieukeur Foundation (SMK) and complies with EU environmental regulations.

True Friends of Natural and Organic Cosmetics (NATRUE) Label is a safety and sustainability ecolabel for cosmetic and personal care products issued by the International Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association (also NATRUE). There are three levels of certification: 1) Natural Cosmetics- no tolerance of toxic or harmful ingredients, 2) Natural Cosmetics with Organic Portion- at least 70% of the ingredients must be organic or wild and 3) Organic Cosmetics- 100% of the ingredients must be organic. The seal is accepted globally.

Natural Products Association Certified Home Care is a USA ecolabel for consumer products to be used in the home that contain naturally-derived ingredients that are safe for humans, avoid all animal testing, use biodegradable ingredients and contain no synthetic/harsh chemicals.

Natural Products Association Certified Personal Care is a USA ecolabel for cosmetics and personal care products that contain naturally-derived ingredients that are safe for humans, avoid all animal testing, use biodegradable ingredients and contain no synthetic/harsh chemicals.

Natureplus-Quality Seal is an ecolabel for building products with a focus on environmentally friendly manufacturing standards issued by the International Association for future-oriented building and accommodation (natureplus e.V.).The seal is accepted globally.

Naturtextil IVN certified BEST is an ecolabel for textiles with a focus on environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. The seal is issued by the International Association of Natural Textile Industry (IVN) and is accepted globally.

The Nordic Swan is the official pan-Nordic ecolabel for a wide variety of consumer and industrial products in the five Nordic Countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland). The seal is issued by the Nordic Council of Ministers and is accepted across Europe. Nordic Swan is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

NSF/ANSI 140: Sustainability Assessment for Carpet PLATINUM is a USA ecolabel for carpets manufactured using sustainable principles across the entire lifecycle of the product. The seal is issued by NSF International (formerly National Sanitation Foundation).

NSF/ANSI 332: Sustainability Assessment for Resilient Floor Coverings PLATINUM is a USA ecolabel for floor coverings manufactured using sustainable principles across the entire lifecycle of the product. The seal is issued by NSF International (formerly National Sanitation Foundation).

NSF/ANSI 336: Sustainability Assessment for Commercial Furnishings Fabric PLATINUM is a USA ecolabel for commercial furnishings manufactured using sustainable principles across the entire lifecycle of the product. The seal is issued by NSF International (formerly National Sanitation Foundation).

NSF/ANSI 342: Sustainability Assessment for Wallcovering Products PLATINUM is a USA ecolabel for wall coverings manufactured using sustainable principles across the entire lifecycle of the product. The seal is issued by NSF International (formerly National Sanitation Foundation).

NSF/ANSI 347: Sustainability Assessment for Single Ply Roofing Membranes PLATINUM is a USA ecolabel for roofing membranes manufactured using sustainable principles across the entire lifecycle of the product. The seal is issued by NSF International (formerly National Sanitation Foundation).

The OK Biobased seal is a renewable materials seal from Vincotte which identifies a product’s material as being manufactured from renewable raw materials. Products are graded on a star scale that indicates their percentage of renewable raw materials (% biobased) from one star (20 to 40%) to four-star (more than 80% biobased).

OK compost is a compostability seal from Vincotte which identifies a bioplastic or biodegradable product as being compostable, the OK compost mark signifies a product meets the international standards for compostability EN 13432 / 14995.

OK compost HOME is a compostability seal from Vincotte which identifies a bioplastic or biodegradable product as being compostable in a non-industrial home compost facility. A product fulfilling the OK compost HOME requirements is regarded as having fulfilled the OK compost requirements under EN 13432 / 14995.

The Processed Chlorine Free (PCF) seal allows consumers in the USA to identify products that have been manufactured without the use of toxic processed chlorine ingredients. The seal is issued by the Chlorine Free Products Association (CFPA).

Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Certified is a globally accepted ecolabel issued by the PEFC for forestry industry products and forestry derived products which demonstrate principles of sustainable forestry management, biodiversity protection and wildlife & resource conservation. There are three types of certifications: PEFC Certified, PEFC Certified and Recycled and PEFC Promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM).

Pure natural leather: Naturleder IVN certified is an ecolabel for leather goods with a focus on environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. The seal is issued by the International Association of Natural Textile Industry (IVN) and is accepted globally.

The Rainforest Alliance Certified seal is a globally accepted ecolabel for a wide range of consumer and industrial products. The seal is issued by the Rainforest Alliance and its holders demonstrate a commitment to tropical forest conservation, wildlife preservation and biodiversity protection. The Rainforest Alliance is a member of the ISEAL Alliance.

The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) was developed by the Textile Exchange for global textile products made with recycled content to ensure traceability and provide documentation for the amount of recycled material in the final product.

The globally accepted Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is an ecolabel and certifying body that certifies precious and semi-precious metals and stones along all steps of the supply chain in order to demonstrate environmental responsibility, a commitment to conservation and fair labor practices. The RJC is a member of the ISEAL Alliance.

The globally accepted Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS) is an ecolabel and certifying body that certifies soy, soy derivatives and soy products along with all steps of the supply chain in order to demonstrate environmental responsibility, a commitment to conservation and fair labor practices.

The globally accepted Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) is an ecolabel and certifying body that certifies the use of biomass and biomaterials in industry in order to demonstrate environmentally responsibility, a commitment to conservation and fair labor practices. The RSB is a member of the ISEAL Alliance.

The globally accepted Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is an ecolabel and certifying body for palm oil. The seal applies to all steps of the production supply chain and demonstrates environmentally responsibility, a commitment to conservation and fair labor standards.

The Sustainable Green Ecosystem Council (SGEC) certification scheme is a Japanese forestry industry seal with a focus on sustainable forest management, conservation of biological diversity and conservation of water resources.

SMaRT Certified Sustainable Platinum is a USA ecolabel for a wide range of consumer and industrial products. The seal is one of several issued by the Institute for Market Transformation to Sustainability (MTS). Whilst there are a few other levels such as SMaRT Certified Sustainable, SMaRT Certified Sustainable Silver and SMaRT Certified Sustainable Gold, the Platinum seal is the most rigorous. The seal incorporates many global environmental standards such as various US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and the ISO 14001 Type I and ISO 14025 Type III environmental standards.

SPCA Certified is a Canadian animal welfare seal issued by the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) for farm products that meet humane standards for animal husbandry welfare.

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Certified is a globally accepted ecolabel issued by the SFI for forestry industry products and forestry derived products which demonstrates principles of sustainable forestry management, biodiversity protection and wildlife & resource conservation. There are three types of certification: SFI Certified Chain of Custody Label, SFI At Least X% Certified Chain of Custody Label and SFI Certified Sourcing Label.

Replacing the OEKO-TEX 100, Sustainable Textile Production (STeP) is a globally accepted ecolabel for textiles manufactured without harsh or toxic chemicals and using environmentally friendly and ethical manufacturing practices.

The 100% Recycled Paperboard (RPA-100%) seal is issued by the USA based 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance (RPA-100%) and is for packaging products made with 100% recycled paperboard.

The ABNT Ecolabel is a Brazilian seal issued by the Associacao Brasileira de Normas Tecnicas (ABNT) which is the national organization for standardization. The seal applies to a wide range of Brazilian consumer and industrial products. ABNT is a member of Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

The AGA Certified Grassfed seal is issued by The American Grassfed Association (AGA) and signifies that a product meets their standards for ruminant animals. Grassfed products have been raised in the USA on open grass pastures without confinement and without antibiotics or growth hormones. In 2017, the AGA introduced a 100% grass-fed dairy standard.

The Associazione Nazionale Architettura Bioecologica (ANAB) Mark is a seal issued through the Associazione Nazionale Architettura Bioecologica for Italian building material and is awarded after evaluating a product’s entire lifecycle and impact on human health and the environment. The seal is issued by the Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale (ICEA).

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is a seal and certifying body for is a global sustainable seafood, focused on both minimizing the environmental impact as well as improving the social conditions pertaining to aquaculture. ASC is a member of the ISEAL alliance.

The World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) Product Label is a fair trade seal issued by the WFTO. The program works with producers worldwide to ensure fair labor standards and promote environmentally friendly production. The seal is accepted globally.

Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) is a seal and program for textiles with a focus on ethical trading, fair labor and environmentally friendly practices. The seal is accepted globally.

Australian Certified Toxin-Free is a consumer ecolabel for cosmetic and personal care products issued by the Safe Cosmetics Australia.

The Australian Forest Certification Scheme (AFCS), which is issued by the Australian Forestry Standard Ltd (AFS Ltd), is a seal for forestry products produced using sustainable forest management practices. The Scheme is made up to two Australian Standards, the Australian Standard for Sustainable forest management (AS4708) and the Australian Standard for Chain of custody for certified wood and forest products (AS4707). The AFCS is endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Windmade Product Label is an ecolabel for products made using at least 75% renewable energy with wind power being the majority source during the entire manufacturing process from raw material collection to packaging.

The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) seal is issued by the Global Aquaculture Alliance and is a certification scheme for the global aquaculture industry including farms, hatcheries, and processing plants. BAP sets standards for social responsibility, animal welfare, food safety and traceability.

The EU Ecolabel is the official European ecolabel managed by the European Commission. The seal applies to a wide range of European consumer and industrial products and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Fair for Life is the issuing body for is a seal and certifying body for both food and non-food products with a focus on ethical trading principals and sustainable farming. The certification covers the entire chain of custody and is accepted globally. The Fair for Life Social & Fair Trade Programme consists of two options: Fair for Life – Social & Fair Trade Certification and For Life – Social Responsibility Certification.

Fair Trade Sustainability Alliance (FairTSA) is a seal and certifying body for food items, handicrafts and cosmetics with a focus on ethical trading principles and sustainable farming. While the organization is based in the USA the seal is accepted globally.

Fair Flowers Fair Plants (FFP) is a European seal and certifying body for cut flowers and potted plants with a focus on ethical trading principals and sustainable farming.

Fair Trade USA is a seal and certifying body for products produced with a focus on ethical trading principals and sustainable farming. The seal applies to food items, body care, apparel and consumer products and while based in the USA may be applied to products produced globally.

The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is a seal and certifying body for garments manufactured in alignment with the FWF Code of Labour Practices which provides a framework for improved labor conditions. The FWF Code of Labour Practices is derived from both the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the UN’s Declaration on Human Rights. The seal is accepted globally.

The FAIRTRADE Mark is a global seal issued by Fairtrade International (FLO) and certified by FLO-CERT for food items, flowers, cotton, gold and sports balls with a focus on ethical trading principles and sustainable farming. FLO is a member of the ISEAL Alliance.
